Add to Chrome — converts on your device

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 30, 2026.

By installing Save Image as Type or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

What the extension does

Save Image as Type adds format options to the right-click menu of pictures in Chrome and saves a converted copy of the picture you choose. Conversion happens on your device. How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

Your responsibility for content

The extension saves pictures that are already shown to you in your browser. It does not give you any rights to them. Many pictures are protected by copyright or other rights. Make sure you are allowed to download, convert and use each picture, and respect the terms of the sites you visit.

Don’t use the extension to break the law, to get around access controls, or to violate anyone’s rights.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute it, or offer modified versions under its name.

Subscriptions and trials

Some features may be available by subscription, and a trial period may be offered. Any price, billing period and cancellation terms will be shown before you pay. If a subscription is not renewed, paid features may stop working while the rest of the extension keeps running.

Promotional content

The extension may show promotional content or advertisements, as stated on its Chrome Web Store listing. Promotions never change how your pictures are converted and never receive your pictures.

Updates and availability

We may update, change or stop the extension or this website at any time. Chrome installs updates automatically. Features that depend on your browser, such as AVIF encoding, can differ between Chrome versions.

No warranty

The extension and this website are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that every picture can be saved in every format, that results will be free of quality loss, or that the service will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data or lost profits arising from the use of the extension or this website. Keep copies of files that matter to you.
